Course Overview
This qualification is offered 6 Months full-time or part-time equivalent and is designed to provide the skills and knowledge for a person desiring to obtain a position in programming or software development with a strong bent towards program development. This person would be able to perform a range of skilled operations in the information technology industry with a breadth depth and ability to look at alternative approaches to applying skills across a broad range of different programming languages and environments. It shows the need to apply discretion and judgment and some multi-skilling. It will provide skills for people in a broad range of languages and both program and multimedia development.
There are a number of prerequisite units that must be completed before attempting this certificate.
Target Audience
This qualification is designed for Year 12 School Leavers, Students who have completed the Certificate III in Information Technology and want a career in Software or Games Development, People already employed in the industry and wishing to upgrade skills and People making a career change with prior computer experience.
Pathways
Completion of the Certificate IV in Information Technology (Programming) will provide direct pathway into the Diploma of Information Technology (Software Development) and Diploma of Information Technology (MM - Games Development), University studies or an junior position in software development.
